This site and the blog set no cookies, run no analytics, and load no third-party tracking of any kind. Every page is static; the only requests your browser makes are for the page itself, its stylesheet, and — if you use it — the RSS feed.

The product

PlanAstro's privacy commitments go further than this static site, because the product itself handles real observation data:

• an installation you self-host keeps your images, catalogue and plans on your own disk — nothing leaves it unless you explicitly configure an optional service (weather, light-pollution estimate, plate solving);
• coordinates sent to a light-pollution or weather provider are rounded before they leave the server, and a self-hoster can disable those calls entirely at the network level;
• an uploaded capture in the hosted service is private by default: no public URL, no slug, no visibility other than private, unless and until you choose to publish from it;
• there is no hidden telemetry.
